Jeff Bezos: What Made Him the Richest Man?

Jeff Bezos, now the richest man in the world, worth about 105 billion left Gates on 2^nd with 100 billion. With Amazon, he has given so many things to the world. We are not able to imagine shopping without Amazon. Amazon, along with Bezos has changed the definition and culture of Shopping. At Princeton University, he once spoke to the class of 2010. He shared words about cleverness and Kindness that he learnt from his grandfather.

“One day you will understand that it’s harder to be kind than clever.”

Let’s talk about those 54 years those built this man from nowhere to billionaire.

The Knight from Schools:

Bezos is National Merit Holder and Silver Knight Award winner. Silver Knight is one of the highly regarded student award. According to classmate he was always true to his words. He always did what he promised to do. It was like he is ‘A man of his word’. His high school girlfriend told that he was fascinated of exploring space. He founded Blue Origin in 2000 and had plans to launch its first rocket in 2019.

Bezos Turned Success into More:

In 1994 he quit his six figure job as a vice president of Wall Street Investment Bank. He has success already that time. While he was researching investment of D.E. Shaw & Co. he found that internet usage is booming by 2000+ percent. Now this was like opportunity to Bezos. But his inner entrepreneur told him to grab this and turn it into a business. So he packed his bag along with wife and got settled in Seattle. He was finding his luck in ecommerce there.

A Resourceful Partner:

He always wanted to get a wife who can get him out of the third world prison. Mackenzie, she is a Princeton graduate that he interviews as vice-president of an Investment firm. “How can you not fall in love with that laugh?” said his wife.

Customer is Brand:

Bezos always wanted his team to remember that customers are also important. He used to bring a empty chair to the meeting room. That chair represents a customer that is sitting with all of them in meeting. Still you can send mail to him about your problem at jeff@amazon.com. That mail is forwarded to person capable of solving the issue. Once it is resolved they send details of it to him so that he can know it’s solved.

Family is also Important:

Jeff was one a workaholic person, who used to keep a sleep bag so he can spend the night. But now he loves to spend his time with his 4 children and wife. As per his daily routine he do his breakfast with family. After the dinner is washes dishes that is one sexiest thing he do, Bezos’s words.

A Fit Billionaire:

In 2017 Sun Valley Conference, Bezos appear with Navy Seal Physique. That showed everyone he is not only fit in business but also physically. He takes healthy breakfast and prefers food trucks for lunch. His workout schedule is not revealed yet but we are sure that is into it.

Charity:

Jeff’s philanthropic work may not be that much known in compare to other fellow billionaires but he is into it. He has a foundation the Bazos Family Foundation that is run by his parents. Recently he donated $33 million to a scholarship program that support DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Trump announced ending support for DACA and this donation put Jeff into Political Battle.

So these are the few things that helped building Jeff his empire that have all the taste. Taste of business and money with family and humanity. With desire of exploring space and helping other is standing him out in the line of billionaires.
