FireOS: Is Amazon Software Competing with Android?
Since the Google app for Android began rolling back in 2010, it has allowed other retailers to customize, from Smartphones to tablets.
Amazon did just that with FireOS, reducing the visibility of the Amazon.
It even appeared on the poorly designed Amazon Fire Phone back in 2014, which lasted only a year before it was canceled.
But, the connections between FireOS and Android are too significant to count, but some usage cases may make you wonder if a Fire device can work in your home.
Disputes with Android
FireOS first arrived in 2012 with the Kindle Fire tablet to play with Apple’s iPad mini. Since then, we have split into various genres, from Fire TV, Echo Show, and Fire tablets. However, Amazon has ensured that it maintains a user interface and color scheme to match its product and orange, complete when you access the settings app or browse the apps installed on your Fire tablet.
Instead of the Google Play Store, you have access to the Amazon App Store instead. This includes a variety of apps but is also available from the Amazon website. This way, if you see your favorite app there, you have to buy it, and it will download right to your Amazon Fire device. In addition, it is the easiest way for Amazon to control which apps are available on Fireline.
But the deeper you go into FireOS, the more you can get used to it, especially if you have an Android phone. For example, you can avoid Amazon gateway storage and use other third-party apps instead, enable features such as mouse support and the ability to use games and movies that are not in the Amazon store.
Analysis: Here comes a new challenge.
Since FireOS works on the Android version, it also means it is open to various plays. For example, the Xbox GamePass app can be practiced on the Fire tablet and, for some re-creation, the Fire TV stick. Therefore, you will be able to play Halo 2 on your TV with the controller you have chosen to pair with the device. It’s a fantastic feature, especially for those who don’t have an Xbox. After that, you can start the app and continue with your game of choice.
However, Amazon’s gaming streaming service, called Luna, in testing, could help turn FireOS into a more attractive gaming device to enable more access to games that require only control and internet connection.
Next Prime Day
With Amazon Prime Day rumored to be coming in late June, it also means it’s an excellent opportunity to check out Amazon’s new device, especially if you’re looking for something to play with.
As the boundaries are slightly higher and there are more opportunities to meet people, travel will work again. Of course, this means that having a Fire HD tablet just watching your favorite James Bond movies can be one good use.
