Nicki Minaj Says She Was ''Bullied Into Staying Quiet'' Over Years of Grammys Snubs

Nicki Minaj isn’t holding back on Twitter, especially after revealing she has been “bullied” by the Recording Academy and has maintained “silent for 7 years from fear.” If his name sounds familiar, it is because Ariana Grande lately called him out on Twitter when she explained she was “stifled” by him and consequently wouldn’t perform in the 2019 Grammys. 

It seems Minaj is taking a cue from the”7 Rings” star’s book because she’s prepared to speak her truth. “I pissed the same man Ariana only called out for lying. Grammy manufacturer KEN,” that the 36-year-old rapper wrote in her post. “I was bullied into staying silent for 7 years out of fear. But I’ll tell my fans the REAL on the next episode of #QueenRadio they deserve the truth.” Closing her statement, she said, “Additionally, CONGRATS to everyone who won last night.”

The publication’s tweet “Meanwhile Nicki Minaj has been dragged by her lacefront.” Not long after, Minaj issued a statement, saying she and “Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Expertise or award ” The concert series is happening and the awards show is scheduled after. Both Cardi and Nicki were put to co-headline the concert. Fans immediately called BET for the insensitive post out.

One fan wrote, “Nicki Minaj did not revive a whole genre, compose her own raps for over a decade, & fetch all of ghetto ass awards show viewers for y’all to disrespect and tease her like this.” Another enthusiast tweeted, “Nicki Minaj has been at the very top of her game for way too long to not have had a Grammy. I don’t understand what white guy in the planks she pissed off.” That is what triggered Minaj’s Grammys post. 

Although, she’s yet to reveal “the facts.” A statement was issued by BET, TMZ reports. “BET enjoys Nicki Minaj. We’ve supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward.” 

Adding, “Regrettably the respect we have for Nicki was busted by this post which should not have been written. The article doesn’t reflect how we feel about Nicki. And does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment, and confusion that this post has caused. We’re committed to doing what we can to tackle the circumstance.”
