During the lockdown, people found it difficult to entertain themselves. With live sports and other live events being disrupted worldwide, people found solace on their phones and other personal devices. Be it OTTs or multiplayer online games, people found effective ways to keep themselves entertained.
One of the industries that exponentially boomed during the lockdown was the gaming industry. People enjoyed playing with their friends virtually without actually having to be at any kind of risk of exposing themselves. Here we will look at some of the games that rose in popularity.
- COD (Call of Duty): Developed by Timi Studios, this already popular game, soared even more in popularity among the youth. This game is mainly a shooting game where you have to defeat the opposite team. One of the reasons the game is so popular is its outstanding graphics combined with user-friendly controls.
- Ludo: The good old Ludo played on a board found great success in its virtual form. With people being distanced from each other, online Ludo became an instant hit among people of all ages. The 4 player game ensured that you had a nice dose of thrill and excitement when the game reaches its climax.
- Among Us: A game which is pretty different from the other hit games, grew in popularity. Among Us is a multiplayer game that takes in a maximum of 10 players. In the game, there will be 2 imposters and the rest will be crewmates. The objective of the imposters is to kill the crewmates. If the crewmates escape and complete all their tasks then they win.
- Skribble: Skribble is a very simple and enjoyable game. This game can be played online along with your friends. The objective of this game is to make your friends guess the code word for which you can give hints by illustrating it. If your friends guess it right then you get points. In the end, the person with the maximum number of points wins the game.
Along with the games mentioned above, there were many other games that became quite popular. The major reason why these games became popular was that they were multiplayer and you could enjoy these games with your friends as much as you like.
