Learn and Admit Your Mistakes and Move On Like Elon Musk

We all make some mistakes in our life, some are big some are small but our mistakes come with life lessons. One who learns those lessons can make more success than others. If Elon Musk, a billionaire, worthy of 16.7 billion USD, can admit that he had made mistakes, learnt from it and move on with that then we are not so special. We also can do that.

Elon Musk, CEO and Co-founder of Tesla, SpaceX and SolarCity, admitted his mistake that he made with the Tesla Model X this year in Annual Shareholder Meeting held at Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California on June 6, 2017. He was there to talk about the new future plans being hold by SolarCity and Tesla in future. Their he explained their plan of expansion of their superchargers in next few years. He wanted to cover as much user as possible and never let them wait long to charge their cars.

He talked about an electric powered semi-truck prototype, going to unveiled in September. He also talked about model Y vehicles soon be rolled out in 2017. But what was the mistake he has done?. So his major mistake was done during the launch of Model X vehicles. Everyone knows you can’t digest many things at once. We all have our limits. This time what he did was giving so many upgrades in one single model and in just one launch.

Musk explained, “There’s been some criticism that we should sort of do it derived from the Model 3 platform. But I think actually, we made a mistake in trying to derive the Model X from the Model S platform. It would have been better to just design an SUV the way an SUV should be designed. Design a sedan the way a sedan should be designed. Otherwise you’re just trying to shoehorn something in that doesn’t make sense.”

On Model X he said that there were so many update for the customer in their single model launch and that was so much. People of today’s world were not ready for this model and we just did not come with one new innovation but we entered the market with several one, Musk said. They were so much exited of their new innovation that in overconfident they took this decision and created something that will never be made again soon. He said we could have launched it in different part like version 1, version 2 and version 3. That left us with very few choices for upcoming Model 3.

So if a person who spends his day in thinking and innovating something new daily for a High Speed Charging Car Network, a natural energy (solar) provider and reusable space craft maker can accept his mistakes then rethink. Why can’t we do the same and move on and learn to make more success in future.
