“Dance Till Your Heart’s Content”
Dance is not learned, it is felt from within; you can never learn it until and unless you feel the music and let your body groove to it. Music plays a vital role in dancing, it lets you free and expresses yourself not through mere words but by expressions and actions.
I frequently question myself, “what my life would have been without music and more significantly without dance?” There are so many dance forms in the world, so many different actions, expressions that are distinguished from one another in various ways; be it Contemporary, Jazz, Salsa, Bhangra, Hip-Hop, and so on. As an art, dance has given an ample amount of love, back and forth into the world, it gave a means of expression for people who cannot speak, listen, or even see.
As I stated before, this art form is not learned, people who often say, “I can’t dance” or “I am bad at dancing”, trust me, there is no such phenomenon, you just have to let your body free and do its job. Once you start feeling, you will know that it has been so easy all your life and you can dance. Each and every step you do is a dance in itself, even if it is terrible, as that is your body’s reaction to the music. Most of us, even I believe that in every field, every stage, there is a scope for improvement! If we want to achieve something, we will try our best to fulfill our dreams, so is with dance, if we want, we can improve and become the best version of ourselves.
I personally learned plentiful via dancing, and I see a different personality of myself when I indulge myself in it. I mostly like the contemporary form of dancing because I feel freer and rather stiff. When I am upset with something or even happy, I let my heart out through dancing, it consoles me and helps me relive in various situations. It has been with me since my childhood and given me love, respect, faith in so many ways and I feel blessed to have this in the form of a blank canvas, where I can paint my sorrows, wishes, smiles, and fears.
In the end, I would just say that believing in yourself can do wonders, and so listen to your heart, feel the music and let it sway you till your heart’s content!
